Yes, yes I’ve been getting your emails and comments asking where the new posts are. Truth be told I’ve been working on a lot of my own material. In the two weeks I’ve gone with no posts, I’ve gotten over TWO HUNDRED submissions, so I figured I should probably catch everyone up. Out of those tunes, I only picked a few to post and there are a stunning variety of styles. Hope you enjoy and find a use for them this weekend!

Speaking of this weekend, if any of you are in Chicago, I will be making my Bon V debut (1100 W Randolph St) tomorrow, Friday the 16th! Seriously – huge two-floor venue, Funktion One sound system, big projection screens…me likee. If you want to come, let me know and email dani@danideahl.com. It should be a good night and I always love playing new places :-)

Lastly, before getting into the good stuff, have you picked up your copy of Pilotpriest’s “Zipper” yet? Check it out on iTunes or Beatport to listen to the tune that artists like Donald Glaude and Designer Drugs are championing big time!

Sorry about the abbreviated post here – I hope to get back on regular posting schedule in the upcoming week and actually give you guys the individual reviews you all love! As I mentioned, it’s been busy and part of that includes a lot of writing for URB. You can check out my recent reviews on albums by Filthy Dukes and HervĂ© and read my interview with Perry Farrell all on URB.com now.

Also, had big hopes for the “Pon De Floor” “Let’s Get Nasty” mix.. Had so much potential! Haha.

Yet another great riverside remix. (Minus the wobbles :)

The music you post is amazing. I would really like a copy of the vengeance, roxy cottontail mashup. The URL is not valid. Any chance you could re-post it?

i found this selection of tracks to be pretty disappointing, gaga and beyonce remixes? two of them?

While I never usually feel the need to explain myself – I feel like I have to here in response to Leon ;-)

Apparently Leon skipped over “nasty bangers” in the post like the Sidney Samson remix and the ridiculous Pon de Floor mashup.

Fact is, when I’m deciding what to put on the blog – I’m not even looking at what the original song is. For me, that a song is originally by Beyonce or Lady Gaga is an afterthought. I’m listening to the production, the composition, how I might react to it in a nightclub setting and of course, if it even grabs me at all.

I get upwards of 100-150 songs sent to me weekly and if it doesn’t grab me in the first few seconds of skipping around, I don’t bother. I’ve learned from my six years of reviewing for URB that you really generally need 10-30 seconds of listening to a track to know if you want to listen to the whole thing.

That being said – are you kidding? You’re complaining about songs like an ALAN BRAXE remix of Beyonce! Alan Braxe, the amazing French artist who collaborates with the likes of Fred Falke and the cousin of DJ Falcon??

I definitely stand by all my posts, especially since I pride myself on providing artist/label approved songs at a full 320kbps for all of you!

I will admit, the sidney samson remix is absolutely bangin, no doubts about it…and I certainly didn’t mean to offend you there. I always dig the quality of the tunes…and the descriptive posts.Tis’ a sweet blog, so thank you.
Let’s just say I thought this post was much much “poppier” than what I’m used to, and what it comes down to is a matter of taste.
