Things have been slow…I know all you fuckers are at SXSW or prepping for WMC so my inbox is feeling a little neglected as of late. Yes, I’m still in Chicago while apparently everyone else is somewhere warm. I hate you. Thankfully I have gotten a couple things in that perked my ears up so I can pass along something while I wait for everyone else to get back in town.

The American Dream Team has some new tuneage including a remix of Machines Don’t Care. The intro is a bit of a bitch and the lead into the meat of the track a bit noisy, but once it drops in at about 1:30 the track really chugs along. The other track submitted, “Listen 2 The Music” is a bit more restrained and loop-heavy – reminds me of stuff I would hear here in Chicago years ago. Overall I think “Listen 2 The Music” is more successful than the Machines Don’t Care remix because of the instrumental hook and the simplicity, but both tracks are good and worth listening to! Bonus: their Grum remix of “Woah” if you don’t have it yet. Kudos to The American Dream Team as well for using the ULTRNX remix of “Freaking Me Out” in their new mix!

Robin da Hood always sends over some quality remixes, and even though listening to Soulja Boy makes me want to drown myself, this remix makes “Kiss Me Through The Phone” palatable. He really does a fantastic job of not only integrating the vocal into the electro elements he introduces, but flawlessly bouncing between a 4/4 and a more slowed down tempo that mimics the original.
