Mega Post Time Posted by admin

Ugh, it seems like lately I have too many projects to complete in too little a timeframe, so I apologize for the past week…and for the future month or so. On a brighter note, I am playing Crobar tonight so any of you in Chicago come on by! I’m nervous, and I haven’t been nervous for a gig in a long time.

So here are some choice tunes that have been sitting around in my inbox for at least a week, languishing away. A couple of these have already been posted a couple other places since I haven’t been on it like white on rice (as I normally am), but what the hey - I like them and I’ll post them anyway.

First up, a really nice tribal-influenced track from Boston’s Bobcat and Legz. It’s very rare I hear something as crisp and clean as this tune from such a novice in the game…dude, 543 friends on MySpace? Sooooo 2005. The tune “7 10 Split” isn’t something I would normally slip into a set, but it’s damn catchy, and the breakdown right in the middle adds a sweet element that really caps the production off.

Next, a boot of my favorite song (insert heavy sarcasm here), Soulja Boy. This boot, produced by London’s Continental Breakfast Club, makes listening to the vocal palatable for me (which says a lot). Although I wish the kicks were punchier and the vocal chopping more sophisticated, all around it’s a very solid track with some nice grime.

Oh yes, DJ Kue is back, this time with a remix of the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage.” I absolutely love everything this guy does - there must be something in the water in LA - so much good music is coming out of there right now. If you didn’t download the last tracks I put up by DJ Kue, download them here.

Closing up the post are remixes for Love Motel, the Geneva-based group that harkens back to artists like Giorgio Moroder with a contemporary twist. While the remix package contains an impressive array of tunes, a few stuck out to me. Enjoy below!

DJ Kue’s OMG is slammin’ indeed.

I can’t even hear the kick in The Soulja Boi remix. Maybe it was meant to be that way? I don’t know?

    Have fun a Crobar.
