A photographer from San Francisco emailed me this CD compilation comprised mainly of groups from the bay area, but some from beyond. It was mostly indie rock…and not very good indie rock save for a few bands like Toyko Rodeo. One group caught my attention though. Scream Club’s “Life Of A Heartbreaker” was one of the only pure electronic songs on the CD and dramatically stood out. I wasn’t actually thrilled with “Life Of A Heartbreaker,” but the Roxy Cottontail feel mixed with “Act A Fool” type beats was intriguing…so I looked them up. They describe themselves as “2 blinged-out, positive, sexy, feminist, intelligent, gender queer rockers.” Bam!
