If there’s one thing I love about you guys it’s that you check up on me. Seriously, what a devoted readership. I’ve always found that the moment I’m not posting consistently, I get little nudges and reminders in my email, Twitter and Facebook with people wondering where the heck I went. These past few weeks were an example of that – and I apologize, but my hands were literally tied. As the title indicates, my digital world went crashing down around me bit by bit, taxing my patience and, well, I guess just my patience. Let’s run down the events.
1: My host migrates servers, rendering me unable to access any of my sites for over a week.
2: While my server is being migrated, my email begins to act all wonky. Emails people send to me are bouncing and emails I send out never get to their recipients.
3: I drop my Blackberry in a puddle and completely fry it.
4: I discover something is wrong with my internet. I now have access to my site but cannot put a post up because my upload speed is mysteriously 2kbps. Comcast discovers there is something wrong with our line and has to fix.
5: After this is fixed I find out that the database for this blog was corrupted during the migration and I am unable to do everything from approve comments to post.
WTF INTERNET GODS??!! As of right now, it seems like everything has been resolved and is back to normal but it’s now too late in the day for me to write a proper post so tomorrow it is. I just wanted to write something now in the interim so everyone knew I was still here and writing.
I really appreciate everyone’s patience and I promise a post will be up over the weekend. On a brighter note, I got a very thoughtful email the other day from a reader, and I hope he doesn’t mind if I share.
“My name is Andreas and I have been a longtime devotee of both your blog and your writing, particularly in URB. Should I stick around and wait for the gems you consistently deliver or should I bail? I’m basically asking if you plan to continue your blog as the updates have become progressively less frequent. Dance music, particularly electro, is my life and your blog has turned me on to vast array of artists that have since become some of my favorite dance floor killers in my DJ sets (i.e. Nadastrom, DJ Kue, and Death to the Throne). I am by no means complaining as I understand you have an extremely busy DJ/writing schedule outside of the blog. Its just that I have found very few blogs that deliver in the consistency of quality of both the music and writing. Here’s to hoping you keep doing what you do behind the decks, the pen, and the keyboard.”
Reading this email I realized Andreas was absolutely right. My frequency has dropped over the past few months to about an average of two a month and I should be updating more. That being said, I’m going to try my best to update twice a week from now on, keeping it fresh…just the way y’all like it.
xoxo

We Miss You!
Well, that’s because when you make a post, we are pretty much guaranteed 7 or 8 tracks to add to our collection. Sounding good and keep it up.
Great!! Fantastic!! Exelent!!
hey i just wanted to add to Andreas comment by agreeing about other blog sites there just not as informant of the music or even the artist. Word press was the first blog site i went to and fell in love with the descriptions of the music and the artist bio. And i also love the fact that you actually keep in contact with the artist and know them on a personal level. but to make a long story short i was inspired to become a Dj because of the music that i got from these blogs. Dj Kue, FnDannyboy, Don Diablo, Disco Villains are some of my fav artist to mix up. I would have never know this with out D Squared. For that i like to thank you. Thank you for your time and devotion. I’ll be checking back for new post lol. Gota have my fix for the week! thanks Dani.
