Welcome once again to my ensnaring spider web of electronic news. That’s right, it’s Denman, yet again, here to break you off a few small crispy kit-kat treats from the electronic world.

Last week, Bassnectar’s “Divergent Spectrum,” saw a drool-worthy remix EP, that went out to the fiending masses with a free download, via the Dim Mak website. Not only does it have label head, Steve Aoki’s larger-than-words-can-express electro remix, but also tracks from the likes of Terravita, Ill.Gates, The Glitch Mob, Beats Antique, as well as the final release of Bassnectar’s “Color Storm.” These are highly combustible tracks for both fans and DJ’s alike, so grab ‘em!

For my producers who use Reason, (That’s right, my ableton and I are straight tagged out on this one.) keep your eyes peeled to dubspot on the 31st from 7-9 EST. Not only will they be going over the “massive leap” that apparently the newly released Reason 6 is, they’ll also be bringing Hank Shocklee, of Public Enemy Fame, and every progressive head’s mega-crush, FaltyDL to do the talking for them. Reason 6′s evolutionary notes include, “…the integration of Record (the acclaimed recording and mixing software), new instruments, new effects, a new mixer, and a sexy new audio interface called Balance,” as well as the fascinating concept of pay-what-you-can upgrades. Best of all, if you don’t live in, or can’t walk to NY, you can watch the whole producer geek out streaming live on the dubspot site.

At a week and a day old, this next post is ancient history by modern standards, but, in case it became lost to the noise of the interwebs, Karmaloop TV captured a fascinating 3 minutes with dubstep cum maninstream music superstars, Nero. They chat a bit about their view on the rise of electronic music, the dedication of their fans, and how they met, all while wrapped in smashing black attire. It’s a pleasant way to spend a coffee break.

In one last morsel of news, according to MTV’s website, (that’s right, I love you so much I’ll visit MTV’s website to find stories for you), Pop and Oak inadvertently pulled one over on musical monarch Annie Lennox. After the scrapped track by Nicki Minaj, “You Love,” leaked and rose to releasable popularity, the production duo found themselves in a losing summer camp style tug-o-war with Miss Lennox over a sample they used from her track, “No More I Love You’s.” Eventually throwing their hands up, and starting over, Pop and Oak still heard the hounds of her lawyers, who thought the production was so good that it still surely must have been the original. You can hear the duo whimsically explain it in their own words, on MTV’s website.
