The snow is gone
I noticed for the first time today while I was working that I could hear birds outside my window. It might be a long time until it’s actually Spring in Chicago, but I actually found that I turned off my music and just listened to the birds for a while as I was working. Nothing to put one in a good mood like those little hints of warm weather ahead. Which is why there are two posts today!
DJ Kue has once again delivered a bang-up remix, this time of Stone Temple Pilot’s “Plush.” This remix is pretty hard and actually, one of my favorites that DJ Kue has done. Although the original song only comes in during the breaks and is filtered to sound a little flangey, I love the bulk of the track that, while simple, is punchy and simply makes me want to dance.

Prepmode hails from Austin (lucky for him this month) and apparently is in the business of making some pretty banging music. His take on “Trans Boulogne Express” by Birdy Nam Nam adds a different dimension with a vocal stab and a bit of a shuffle with the beat. It’s a good addition to the original and is definitely a bit of a party starter. He does a great job of taking a minimal amount of stock and working it into multiple patterns to keep it interesting throughout. Of course, the original is pretty bad-ass too, so that helps.
