That’s right, tonight I headline Debonair Social Club in Chicago! If you don’t have guest list yet, email me at dani@danideahl.com ASAP with your name and number of guests. Debonair is at 1575 N. Milwaukee. I don’t care that it’s cold out – it’s Chicago – a few shots will fix you right up.

As I said yesterday, here are the tracks I promised you guys! A crop of really great remixes today – very exciting. I haven’t heard much from DJ Wool lately and lo and behold he has just sent over a new remix of Omar Doom’s “Turning On.” The tone is quite dark and bleepy with phrasing from the original song sitting quite nicely on top without any cutting and chopping.

Kid Cola gives us a Ladyhawke “Back Of The Van” remix that is quite dark and dirty with minor key synths and breathy samples. Clean breaks that harken the original lighten the tone, but only for moments before suddenly dropping back into heavy and wobbly mainlines. Well done.

Ok, here is the mainstream track for the post – Ross.FM presents a remix of Flo Rida’s “Right Round” which is actually quite fun and has a chunky drive to it. With nice touches like descending trickling blips in the background and punchy snares, this is worth keeping as a guilty pleasure. That’s right, I said it.

This latest remix from Jesse Rose is quite deep – the perfect track to throw on at 3:30 in the morning when everyone is drunk and wants a tune to groove out to on the dancefloor. It reminds me of something Fred Everything would make if he wanted to dip into electro. Loop driven and dreamy, this remix gets into my head. The spoken word on top – a woman detailing wild parties of her youth – is the topper making this an absolute must-have.
