So normally I don’t post mixes on here, it’s kind of just been the dsquared way to focus on singles and the writing I do for publications. However, my friend Preston Craig of Kissatlanta sent me a new mix he did and I have to post it. For those of you who didn’t read the post, Preston very recently moved to New York from Atlanta and has been settling in quite nicely. As of late, he’s been intrigued by Italo disco and new disco house and threw together this lovely little collection of songs. In fact, it’s the first mix he’s made since a demo in ’97/’98. The mix is sublime – it’s full of swoopy filters, looped disco and live sounding drums. It simultaneously reminds me of classic disco and the South side of Chicago and glowsticks and Ecko (in the best possible way and without all the P.L.U.R. BS). I need more.
